The Builders Development Corporation is proud to serve as a designated Community Housing and Development Organization (CHDO) for the City of Independence, Missouri; for Johnson County, Kansas; and for the State of Kansas. The US Department of Housing and Urban Development awards HOME Program funding to states and local jurisdictions for the development of affordable single-family and multifamily housing, with specific set-asides for designated non-profit CHDOS to meet their most challenging affordable housing needs. State and local governments select community development corporations with proven performance and thorough understanding of the federal HOME Program to be their CHDOs.
