As a CHDO for the State of Kansas, the BDC has embarked on its first project built especially for low and moderate-income seniors: the Riverview Senior Residences in the rural community of South Hutchinson, Kansas. The project is also marks the first for the BDC funded by a combination of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), a state HOME Funds Grant, and an Affordable Housing Program grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka.
The Riverview Senior Residences is a new 3 story, 36 unit state-of-the-art facility with affordable rental apartments designed for those age 55 and up. This project is constructed in the community’s historic heart. It’s features are energy efficient appliances and systems, as well as community-oriented programming and services to foster an active lifestyle. Riverview Senior Residences is offering affordable senior-oriented living opportunities unequaled in the community.
